My Father is Julia Child

My mom and I absolutely love the movie Julie and Julia and so I bought it for her as a Christmas present this year. After much coaxing, pleading, and putting on my puppy-dog face, we finally got my dad to watch it (this was on Christmas). Since then, he has not stopped speaking in a high-pitched, mock Julia Child voice. He finds Meryl Streep's version a bit over the top and, while I slightly do agree with him, he has taken it to the next, and quite hysterical, level. He cannot go one sentence without adding in a little bit of Julia! While this is hilarious, it has diminshed my enjoyment of the movie and I probably won't be able to watch it for several months without hearing my father's falsetto Julia Child going "I do, I really doooooo! Oh, butter, butter, butter...".

For those of you who haven't seen Julie and Julia, you really should. It is a fantastic movie based on a very interesting story (that, coincidentally, involves blogging!)

In other news, I've started knitting another scarf. This one is going to be a birthday present. For those who care about such things, I'm using Size 5/ Bulky yarn, Size 9 needles, 25 stitches across, approx 25 rows per square, and 12 squares total. Yes, this is going to be quite a large scarf! I would post pictures of my progress, but I want it to be surprise for the recipient!

Regarding pictures, I did get a new camera for Christmas, so do expect pictures of baking, knitting, and other surprises in future blogs. As of now, I'm still getting everything configured and testing out all of the neat little features.

That's all for today. Until tomorrow!

Bon Appetit!
